Training Programs - Improvised Explosive Device (IED)
Search and Protocol
You only have to turn on the television, open the latest newspaper or visit your favorite website to see that each day, more emotionally and mentally disturbed individuals, violent criminals, and terrorists are using the destructive power of explosives to correspond with their distorted goals. Incidents like the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, the 1995 Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building Bombing in Oklahoma City, the 1996 Olympic Bombings in Georgia, the Family Services Center bombing in Alabama, and the Massacre at Columbine High School in 1999 represent a small segment compared to the thousands of illegal bombings that occur around the world, yearly.
Why are explosives so popular? What makes them so unique? Who would want to use something so dangerous? Explosives can cause enormous loss of life, instill extreme panic and fear in the public, disrupt utility and financial systems, and produce considerable damage to facilities. Bombs and explosives come in all shapes and sizes and are only limited in design and working principle, to the imagination of the bomber. They can be hundreds of miles away when the blast goes off; giving bombers the added time to escape and evade capture. Improvised explosive devices are becoming increasingly sophisticated and difficult to detect. Unfortunately, most companies and individuals are unaware as to the protocol required when a bomb threat is received, a suspicious device is found, or how to properly evacuate their facility.
Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Search and Protocol is our intensive 3-day program. It is HANDS-ON and designed for human resources managers, corporate security, investigators, yacht and aircraft crew, law enforcement, school educators and administrators, hotel and retail operations managers, public works, firefighters, emergency management and any individual who is concerned with IED recognition and the prevention of bombings.
Attendance at this program enables you to gain the crucial information and skills necessary to make proper decisions for safely handling bomb threats, executing proper search techniques, identifying suspicious items and creating strong emergency evacuation plans.
